Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) shredded Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison over his failure to prosecute massive healthcare fraud.
The confrontation reached a fever pitch when Higgins flatly called for the radical Democrat’s resignation.
During his questioning, Higgins pressed Ellison repeatedly on whether he was personally leading a broad criminal investigation into the massive fraud allegations.
Higgins noted that Minnesota law allows the attorney general to prosecute cases beyond Medicaid fraud if requested by county attorneys or the governor.
Yet, when asked whether he was directing the larger investigation into fraud in Minnesota’s healthcare and social service programs, Ellison appeared to focus only on Medicaid-related prosecutions.
That response set Higgins off.
“Are you leading the effort?” Higgins asked repeatedly.
Ellison responded that his office was leading prosecutions related to Medicaid fraud.
But Higgins quickly cut him off.
“I’m not talking about Medicaid fraud. Don’t hide behind that.”
The Louisiana Republican warned that the scale of the alleged fraud demanded leadership from the state’s top law enforcement official.
“You have the authority to prosecute anything criminally that the governor asks you to,” Higgins said. “And this thing is big.”
When pressed again about whether he was leading the broader criminal investigation into fraud across Minnesota’s healthcare and social services programs, Ellison replied that his office was simply “following the law.”
That answer appeared to confirm Higgins’ suspicions that the attorney general was not directing a comprehensive statewide investigation.
Higgins then delivered a blunt conclusion.
“You’re not leading. I must say, Mr. Chairman, that the Attorney General of the state of Minnesota should resign.”

The Gateway Pundit previously reported that a 54-minute secret recording from a December 11, 2021, closed-door meeting inside Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison’s official state office is resurfacing amid explosive revelations that 70 Somali community members in Minnesota participated in stealing $250 million in federal COVID child-feeding funds.
On the tape released by American Experiment earlier this year, Ellison sympathizes with, encourages, and ultimately promises assistance to a group of Somali-American business leaders, many of whom would later be charged or convicted in the largest COVID relief fraud scheme in U.S. history.
The audio reveals Ellison mocking state agency oversight, vowing to “fight” on behalf of the very operators who investigators say were deeply involved in a web of wire fraud, money laundering, and fake meal claims across Minnesota.
