Globalist Coup: Bombshell Congressional Report Says Calin Georgescu’s National Conservative Victory Was Overturned by EU Elites & Romanian Courts

A bombshell report emerging from the United States Congress is sending shockwaves through the Old Continent, placing Romania—and its corrupt liberal-globalist regime— at the center of what American lawmakers now describe as a modern political coup carried out under the guise of ‘election security.’

According to findings released by the US House Judiciary Committee days ago, Romania’s 2024 presidential election, which saw frontrunner Călin Georgescu unceremoniously banned from running, was not merely mishandled—it was deliberately overturned.

The interim congressional report, published in early 2026, concludes that the Romanian electoral process was subverted through censorship, institutional pressure, and foreign interference originating not from Moscow, as the globalist politicians and their lying lackeys in the mainstream press told us, but from Brussels. The report explicitly states that on December 6, 2024, Romania experienced a de facto coup d’état when its Constitutional Court annulled the presidential election results.

At the heart of the controversy is national-conservative and sovereignist candidate Călin Georgescu, who stunned Romania’s political establishment by winning the first round of voting in November 2024. Running as an independent outsider, Georgescu campaigned on national sovereignty, cultural preservation, and opposition to globalist governance—positions that resonated deeply with voters disillusioned by the entrenched, out-of-touch political class.

Rather than allowing the democratic process to continue, Romanian authorities abruptly halted it. The justification rested on a claim by Romanian intelligence services—widely disputed and poorly substantiated—that Georgescu had benefited from a Russian-backed TikTok operation allegedly involving 25,000 coordinated accounts.

However, internal TikTok documents later submitted to both Romanian authorities and the European Commission flatly contradicted that claim. TikTok’s own threat intelligence teams repeatedly stated they found no evidence of a Russian influence campaign tied to Georgescu, nor any coordinated network of the size alleged.

Despite this, the European Commission seized on the unproven narrative to activate its Digital Services Act (DSA) “rapid response” censorship mechanisms. These systems empower EU regime-aligned ‘fact-checkers’ and NGOs—overwhelmingly left-wing and pro-globalist—to issue priority takedown requests for political content during elections.

According to the US congressional report, Romania became the most aggressive testing ground for this censorship regime. Platforms were pressured to remove national-conservative and sovereignist content, silence Georgescu’s supporters, ultimately erase his digital presence altogether, and criminalize his opposition.

Romanian electoral authorities went so far as to demand that “all materials containing images of Călin Georgescu must be removed,” a sweeping order TikTok itself flagged as politically motivated and legally questionable. The platform refused to comply fully, citing freedom of expression concerns.

Nonetheless, the damage was done. On December 6, 2024, Romania’s Constitutional Court annulled both the first round results and the scheduled runoff, which Georgescu was set to win, citing the same unsubstantiated intelligence claims. Georgescu was later formally barred from running in the rescheduled May 2025 election.

Subsequent investigations revealed a stunning twist: evidence from Romania’s own tax authority indicated that the TikTok promotion initially blamed on Russia had been funded by another Romanian political party. Yet the election results were never reinstated.

Instead, Romania’s political establishment pushed forward with a rerun election stripped of its most popular nationalist candidate. Predictably, the system’s preferred, EU-aligned candidate emerged victorious, cementing what critics now call an institutionalized theft of the presidency.

American lawmakers argue this was no isolated incident. The Judiciary Committee report documents similar EU-driven censorship efforts in France, Germany, the Netherlands, Moldova, Ireland, and Slovakia, all under the banner of combating “disinformation.”

What distinguishes Romania, however, is the scale and brazenness of the regime’s intervention. The report describes the country as the clearest example yet of how supranational institutions can override national democracy when voters choose the ‘wrong’ candidate.

President Donald Trump has repeatedly warned that globalist bureaucracies no longer tolerate genuine national-conservative and anti-globalist victories, whether in Europe or the United States. Congressional investigators now argue that Romania’s experience mirrors the broader assault on national sovereignty Trump has spent years confronting.

For Romanians seeking freedom from the grip of entrenched, anti-national elite politicians, the Georgescu affair has become a symbol of democratic betrayal. He was a candidate chosen by the people and removed not at the ballot box through censorship, authoritarian pressure, and judicial fiat.

The implications extend far beyond Romania. The American report warns that European censorship mechanisms increasingly affect American speech, American platforms, and American elections through transatlantic regulatory pressure.

As hearings continue in Washington, one conclusion becomes increasingly apparent: Romania did not lose its election to foreign hackers—it lost it to globalist governance structures unwilling to accept nationalist outcomes.

For Romanians and Europeans more broadly, the fight is no longer just about one election but about whether democracy and the nation-state can survive.
