Sorry, Trump, your support is collapsing and you’re panicking.
Right on cue, you’re deflecting from your failures with lies and conspiracy theories about me. Years of “investigations” have found nothing.

House Republicans have opened an investigation into the finances of Ilhan Omar, focusing on a sharp rise in her household wealth in recent years. Staff attorneys with the House Oversight Committee are leading the probe, examining Omar’s financial disclosures, outside income, and business ties to determine whether any federal ethics or disclosure rules were violated.
The inquiry is in its early stages, and no formal allegations have been filed. Investigators are examining how Omar and her husband, Tim Mynett, went from nearly broke to being worth up to $30 million in just one year, according to 2024 disclosure documents.
The review is also expected to scrutinize Mynett’s consulting work and any financial relationships connected to political organizations. Separately, Tom Homan stated that the Trump administration is investigating Omar for alleged immigration fraud, with a fraud investigator claiming there is no doubt after reviewing the files. Federal law enforcement is also conducting its own investigation, with a source stating that authorities are examining all politicians potentially connected to fraud in Minnesota.
One of the more common types of immigration fraud in the Somali community is chain immigration, where individuals falsely claim someone is a sibling or spouse when, in actuality, they are not. This is the specific allegation many have made that Omar married her brother to enter the United States under a spousal visa. It is notable that she is vehemently opposed to any investigation into Somali immigration fraud despite clear evidence that such fraud is widespread.
When asked about Tom Homan’s claims that she is being investigated for immigration fraud, Omar called him “sick” and said she does not know what is being investigated in connection with her, insisting that investigators will “absolutely not” find anything incriminating. Omar also accused President Trump of having a “creepy” obsession with her after he attacked her and referred to the Somali community as “garbage.”
Republicans have tied the Somali immigration investigation to Minnesota’s broader Somali welfare and social services fraud scandal, which federal prosecutors estimate could cost taxpayers up to $9 billion. House Majority Whip Tom Emmer called the probe overdue, alleging that Omar benefited financially while large-scale fraud harmed the state.
Omar has said that individuals involved in the fraud donated to her campaign but that she returned the money years ago. She has also claimed she was one of the first members of Congress to send a letter to the Attorney General requesting an investigation into what she described as reprehensible fraud occurring within the program.
It is ironic that she allegedly returned this tainted money while simultaneously claiming that no fraud exists within the Somali community. At the same time, she has accused the Trump administration of scapegoating Somalis rather than addressing legitimate criminal activity.
Regarding questions about the source of her own wealth, Omar consistently maintains that years of investigations have found no wrongdoing on her part and characterizes President Trump’s accusations as politically motivated deflection tactics. She has not issued detailed rebuttals to specific financial disclosure questions, instead maintaining that her increase in wealth is tied to her husband’s venture capital business.
Beyond the Somali community, Ilhan Omar has opposed ICE deportations all along and has encouraged her constituents to protest. She has claimed that anger is justified over the way federal officers have treated Minnesotans. However, it is arguable whether illegal aliens should be considered Minnesotans, and it is also unclear why it is so important to Omar and other liberals to shield illegal aliens from deportation.
At the same time, she claims to care about the people she serves, yet she encourages them to continue placing themselves in harm’s way by filming and monitoring officers, despite the fact that this behavior can easily lead to violent encounters, as it did with Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti.
Omar said it was “not acceptable” for President Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to publicly condemn Renee Nicole Good before a full investigation was completed. However, video and witness evidence confirm that Good had spent the day following and harassing ICE agents, conduct Omar approved of and arguably encouraged.
In a television interview, Omar said she was “appalled,” claiming that nothing like this would ever happen in Somalia. She has frequently spoken Somali at public events and has appeared with the Somali flag. She has also blamed President Trump and the United States for mistreating Somali immigrants, the bulk of whom live on public assistance. It is ironic that she portrays Somalia as so wonderful, yet so many people want to leave it to live in the United States, which they simultaneously claim is terrible.
To sum up, she is an elected official who supports illegal immigration, decries immigration enforcement, opposes fraud investigations, and frequently appears with a Somali flag.
It is so infuriating it makes you want to move to Somalia and open a day care.
