Pro-Life Group at the University of Southern Maine Facing Constant Harassment, Including Threat Referencing Charlie Kirk’s Murder

A new University of Southern Maine pro-life student organization is being constantly harassed on campus, including by a student who made a threat referencing the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, according to a report from Campus Reform.

Sadly, since the horrific political murder, leftists have seemingly been emboldened to make such threats against Christians and conservatives.

Student For Life’s formation coordinator, Matthew Gozzi, helped the students start Huskies for Life, and said the group was immediately facing backlash.

“Two separate demonstrations were planned before the group had even hosted its first official meeting,” Gozzi wrote in an article on the organization’s website.

“One student seemed to imply a threat referencing slain Turning Point USA leader Charlie Kirk, writing, “[T]hese Charlie Kirk enthusiasts gotta be careful don’t they know what happened to that guy[?]”

Even on this pro-life group’s Instagram page, they were flooded with hate from the not-so-tolerant left.

Some of the Instagram comments included “W]ishing rabies upon your family” and “Sending hateful prayers.”

Kristan Hawkins Students For Life condemned the comments on X saying ““Our Students for Life group at the University of Southern Maine was hit with an anonymous Yik Yak threat that even referenced Charlie Kirk’s assassination. As someone still grieving my friend, it’s heartbreaking, but it also shows exactly why we must keep going. Our students won’t back down, and neither will I.”

Gozzi also condemned the hateful leftist comments, saying the efforts to intimidate “have been to no avail,” and that they “won’t stop fighting and speaking up for Life.”

“The university told Fox News that if the anonymous posters’ identities are discovered, campus police will be involved, and those responsible will be investigated in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct review process.”

Sadly, the Left continues to engage in the violent rhetoric that led to the murder of Charlie Kirk.

Rather than debate ideas, they name-call and engage in threats to try to shut down people or speech they disagree with.
