Ireland, like many countries in Europe, is grappling with the violent consequences of a torrent of migrants flowing into the country without any apparent limit and the financial and social implications that follow.
Reports suggest there are at least 322 migrant plantations spread across the country, some in rural parts of the island nation, which are changing the very fabric of the nation.
The Boston Times reports:
A record number of applications for immigration have flooded the country in recent years, with an increase of nearly 300% over five years. This influx has put a strain on Ireland’s resources and led to a breakdown of law and order in some areas.
Unfettered migration comes with serious safety issues.
According to reports, a 17-year-old Ukrainian asylum seeker, Vadym Davydenko, arrived in Ireland. Three days later he was dead after being fatally stabbed multiple times at a state-funded emergency accommodation for unaccompanied minors in north Dublin’s Donaghmede on October 15.
Gardaí (Irish police) arrested a 17-year-old Somali resident of the facility on suspicion of murder following the attack. The incident also resulted in the injury of a staff member and another minor.
The Irish Times reports:
Detective Sergeant Quill told Judge Kelly the boy “made no reply” when charged in the presence of his social worker and an interpreter. The court heard the teenager was handed a copy of the charge, and it was explained to him.

The District Court does not have jurisdiction to consider bail in a murder case, which requires an application to be made before the High Court. Therefore, the only order that the judge could make was to remand him in custody to the Oberstown Children Detention Campus in Dublin.
The boy has yet to indicate a plea and will face his next hearing at the Children’s Court on Tuesday. Mr Walsh asked that the teenager would appear in person rather than via video link.
Tusla, the child and family agency, confirmed the facility was a residential unit that provides 24-hour care and offers services to those seeking international protection.
The Embassy of Ukraine is working on the repatriation of Davydenko’s body back to Ukraine.

The crisis is becoming so untenable that, in a move straight out of the Trump administration playbook, the Irish government finally began tackling the unsustainable flow of migrants.
According to The Irish Times, asylum seekers are to be offered an allowance of up to €10,000 for a family – if they drop their asylum claims, leave the State and return home.
