Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s efforts to restore the military are appreciated, but those injured by the COVID-19 shot are feeling abandoned.
After being forced to take two doses of the Moderna COVID-19 shot to remain in the Army in 2021, Karolina Stancik, now 25 years old, has suffered three heart attacks, a stroke, an emergency pacemaker surgery, neurological maladies, the contemplation of suicide, and other adverse events. In October 2023, it was determined that her debilitating heart injury did, in fact, occur “In Line of Duty” and was linked to the shot.
Retired Navy Medical Service Corps officer Lt. Ted Macie told The Gateway Pundit he is not surprised.
As the whistleblower who exposed a significant rise in incidents of myocarditis, pulmonary embolism, ovarian dysfunction, and more across the Department of Defense (DoD) following former Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s now-rescinded 2021 COVID-19 shot mandate, he said, “I know others who were injured from the shot, and I know people who died from it—and the latter can’t even claim to be vax injured because they’re no longer here to do so.”
On the heels of Defense Secretary Hegseth determining that the shot was “unlawful as implemented,” TGP spoke to Stancik. She wants Hegseth to acknowledge “someone’s unlawful actions caused injury … severe injury … and even death.”
The former member of the Army National Guard questions “what will be done about the unlawful actions that caused grave injury, destroyed lives, and even led to death in some cases?”
What support is there for people like her? And what consequences will there be for those who unlawfully implemented the shot?
She admitted that not every person who supported the shot mandate knew it was unlawful, but after the advice of countless service members facing separation informed them, many willfully violated the law.
The author of this article has reviewed dozens of Religious Accommodation Requests that also spelled out the illegalities of the COVID-19 shot mandate to their chain of command.
For example, service members, including Stancik, expected but did not receive informed consent, nor were they ever offered a “vaccine” approved by the Federal Drug Administration.
Rather, they were subjected to an experimental shot approved for emergency use only and were told they “might have some cold symptoms” as a result.
So, as one example, what about the military leaders that knowingly violated the law after being fully informed about 10 U.S.C. § 1107a at the start of the mandate? “We have to start with proper investigations to find out who they were,” Stancik pleaded. “My patient rights, my human rights, were violated at minimum.”
And if SecDef Hegseth genuinely believes the mandate was “unlawful as implemented,” she said, “a crime has been committed and there must be Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) action taken against those who broke the law.”
There must be a penalty for their actions, even some that might lead to courts-martial.
“Despite the fact they broke the law,” Stancik said, “we cannot violate their rights and deny due process in return. We must act lawfully to correct this.”
For her, it is imperative for people to understand “a lot of our lives have been completely destroyed by what people claimed for a few years to be lawful.”
If this is truly no longer the case, injured service members are waiting in the background for SecDef Hegseth to publicly address the issue of the physical harms the mandate caused.
“At the end of the day, there’s so many people who lost their jobs, kicked out of the military,” Stancik shared. “But it’s not just the people who lost their jobs; there are injured service members who are being ignored,” she lamented.
Going public with her story for the first time, The Gateway Pundit also had the opportunity to speak to Lieutenant Colonel Lynnette Pfaff, an Army Reserve officer of 27 years.
She received her first Pfizer dose in March 2022 and the second in June 2022, experiencing no symptoms over the following year. But on April 3, 2023, while driving to a birthday party with her twins in the backseat, LTC Pfaff lost control of the left side of her body.
“It was a stroke, a brain bleed on the right, affecting the left side of my body,” she explained.
“I was able to come to a complete stop, but the rest is blur.” Having passed oncoming traffic before parking, she attributes the avoidance of an accident to God and is incredibly thankful her children remained safe.
LTC Pfaff had zero risk factors for stroke. She was 42 at the time, and in “incredible shape,” participating in CrossFit training and more at least four times per week.
Today, she faces multiple challenges. “I struggle to walk. I have gait abnormalities, the loss of proprioception on my left side, weakness throughout the entire left side of my body, and I’m unbalanced,” she shared.
She also has short-term memory loss and struggles with fatigue.
“So many things I used to enjoy, I likely will not enjoy anymore,” LTC Pfaff admitted. “I’m often angry about it, wanting my old body back, but I try not to focus on what I lost.”
Though her body seems “irreparably damaged,” she keeps fighting to improve her mental and physical strength.
“What was done to me was criminal,” she lamented. And while she fights for her health and well-being, like Stancik, she hopes Defense Secretary Hegseth will investigate those who knowingly broke the law by enforcing and implementing the 2021 COVID-19 shot mandate.
If a military leader knowingly violated the law, she agreed, there should be UCMJ action. “I know it doesn’t apply to everyone, but those who were fully informed and did it anyway should be held accountable, and justice needs to be served.”
One day when she retires, she questions whether she’ll be able to receive disability pay from the Department of Veterans Affairs for injuries she attributes to the COVID-19 shot. Does VA
VA Secretary Doug Collins have “full authority” to recognize the once-mandated, unlawful COVID-19 shot as a Toxic Exposure Risk Activity? A public statement or official memorandum on the topic is long overdue.
While efforts to reinstate service members booted over the shot mandate continue to grow, Stancik asked, “who’s responsible for taking care of the injured service member and making all the wrongs right?”
In the fall of 2023, the author conducted a survey that reached 229 participants who represented all branches of the military, including enlisted and officer ranks. Service members were able to anonymously express their views about the COVID-19 shot mandate.
The Gateway Pundit previously published the results:
“…almost 73 percent of the participants said they were also coerced into receiving the shot.”
“…only two of the 30 individuals who admitted taking the shot wanted to be vaccinated.”
“Approximately 95 percent of the survey’s participants faced reprisal for not receiving the COVID-19 injection, including verbal threats of punitive legal action, loss of promotion, and exclusion from career-enhancing schools.”
“Only seven of the survey’s 229 participants were informed by qualified medical personnel of known risks, like myocarditis and more, associated with the injection.”
“Ninety-three percent of the survey’s 229 participants said they know service members who were injured by the COVID-19 injection. “
“Twenty of the 30 participants who admitted being “vaccinated” also revealed they were injured by the shot.”
According to a series of eight interim reports obtained by the author, it is also interesting to note that herd immunity was very likely established prior to the shot’s rollout.
It begs the question: Did these service members really have to suffer their injuries? A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request dated December 18, 2024, to learn more about seroprevalence rate and the presence of neutralizing antibodies in service members remains unanswered.
To help right the wrongs of those who enforced the mandate, President Donald Trump once said, “Yeah … there would be accountability, is right. We’ll fire their asses.” Who’s been fired over the “unlawful as implemented” mandate?
Despite the injustices she’s witnessed personally, Stancik has let go of the anger she once felt. “We need people’s hearts to be changed, and I hope this change will help stories like mine have a bigger impact. Without hearts changing, we will continue to see this happen on a grander scale.”
She wonders if the stories of injured service members are reaching the desk of SecDef Hegseth. “While he fights for the people who got kicked out, I pray that soon he’ll also step and stand up for those us who were injured and lost everything.”
The Defense Health Agency (DHA), which falls under the DoD, “needs to look into the data, but they refuse to do it,” according to Macie.
“They have everybody’s shot record, the lot number [of the ‘vaccine’] attached to it, and other details that can be compared to data within the Defense Medical Surveillance System.”
He also pointed out, “A huge tell would also be the med board process,” which he argued, “would very likely show an increase” in 2021 and after.
A thorough, transparent investigation would help answer everyone’s question about the safety and efficacy of the shot, but DHA and others deliberately refuse to share the information tens of thousands of service members and veterans want to know.
For this reason, Macie said, “A prompt from SecDef Hegseth appears necessary, if he really want to get down to the very last detail of how the shot affected the U.S. military.”
“No one is really investigating, and for that, I’m extremely disappointed and angry people are essentially getting away with murder,” he lamented.
Stanick and LTC Pfaff give God all the glory, attributing their strength and resilience to their faith. Along with many other injured service members, the two interviewees are hoping SecDef Hegseth will be their voice and right the wrongs made against them.
Macie would like to discuss “how utilize data available to the Pentagon to draw a conclusive picture of whether or not the shot caused damage to the force.”
Each interviewee has something to share, and it is hoped the Secretary of Defense will lend his ear.
