Britain is known for many things. Queues. Bad Weather. Pomp and Ceremony. Empire. Tea tax. But there is a dark cultural problem that threatens to define Britain in the 21st Century. The mass rape of white English Girls by largely Muslim Pakistani gangs more well known as the Grooming Gang Scandal.
Despite the fact that hundreds of thousands of girls may have been victims of this horrific and brutal crime, no officials in positions of authority have ever been charged with turning a blind eye and facilitating this great evil. In fact despite nearly 100 court cases prosecuting these gangs, the UK has never had a full national inquiry into the causes of this and how these gangs were allowed to operate for decades with impunity. Until now. Rupert Lowe MP promised that ReformUK would hold a national inquiry if the government refused too. The government has refused and ReformUK has gone quiet on their promise. So Rupert announced last week that he would launch an inquiry and started a crowdfund page to raise money and within days £480,000 ($600,000) has been raised.
Lets step back and give some context to this before focusing on the excellent work that a single MP is doing to bring justice and closure to such an unimaginable evil context.
For 6 decades the UK have had gangs of Muslim Pakistani men preying on white English girls. The first newspaper to mention this seems to be the Rotherham Advertiser in 1975 that reported that a 15 year old girl had told police that a house was used to bring young English girls to have sex with Pakistani men. It took 3 decades for the first trial and convictions in Leeds in 1997. SInce then over 400 men have been convicted in over 90 trials in 40 towns. 84% are Muslim.
The first mainstream journalist to break this story was Julie Bindell in 2007 in the Times. Then in 2012 it became front page news in The Times thanks to Andrew Norfolk. Andrew had covered this story briefly in 2003 after meeting with the then Labour MP Ann Cryer when he became north-east correspondent of The Times newspaper. Ann Cryer was the local Labour MP and she revealed concerns about the targeting of young teenage girls by “Asian men” outside the gates of two local schools.
The victims were always aged 12-15. The first contact was in a public place — a shopping mall, a town centre, a bus or train station — and a grooming process developed in which girls were initially flattered and excited by the attentions of young men a few years older than them who took an interest, offered the adult thrills of cigarettes, alcohol and rides in flashy cars, then wanted to become their boyfriends. These girls were then traded around for sex. Pimped out.
This was a pattern that would be repeated all over the country for many decades. Just as Andrew Norfolk had felt deeply uncomfortable covering a story where men from a minority religious and ethnic background were committing sex crimes against white children, others were also reluctant to tell this story for fear of being branded racist or Islamophobic.
Andrew found out that since 1997 there had been 17 court cases from 13 towns and cities in which two or more men had been convicted of sexual offences linked to the street-grooming exploitation of young teenage girls. Of the 56 men convicted, three were white and 53 were Asian. Of those 53 men, 50 had Muslim names and the vast majority were members of the Pakistani community. He approached the police and local authorities and even the government’s Home Office but was met each time with a blank refusal to speak about the issue.
How and why has this UK issue become a worldwide story? At the beginning of this year Elon Musk tweeted FreeTommyRobinson on 1st January. This caused shockwaves through the British media and political class. Tommy has spoken publically against these rape gangs for decades. He has not been the only journalist but he has been one of the most vocal and well known voices of reason on this. And Musk’s tweet made him the most famous political prisoner in the UK and maybe the world.
Rupert Lowe MP has been an MEP for Nigel Farage’s Brexit Party in 2019. And was elected as one of the five MP’s for Reform UK (Nigel’s rebadged Brexit Party). Elected in the General Election in July 2024. He has spoken up on his concerns about mass immigration and the grooming gangs. On 15th March Elon Musk posted that Rupert Lowe should be Prime Minister. This and other posts have put a target on Rupert’s black and made him an enemy of Nigel Farage. And Nigel seems to have moved forward a disciplinary process to remove his most popular MP in Rupert.
Rupert has now launched his grooming gang inquiry and started a crowdfunding campaign a week ago which has had a huge public response and raised just under half a million pounds. This has connected with an underlying frustration with the failure of the British establishment to address this great evil that has affected hundreds of thousands of girls. Successive UK governments have paid lip service to this strain on the British conscience. And it has taken a South African born American citizen in Elon Musk to make this UK scandal have worldwide attention.
Over the next few months, Rupert will ramp this inquiry up. The groundwork needs to be done and then a public televised inquiry will show this travesty to the whole world. And then a report documenting the findings will be written and presented to the public. For the first time ever the truth about this evil will be presented to the world. Thank you Rupert Lowe MP for sticking to your word.
