The Washington Field Office of the FBI told NBC News there is no indication of terrorism in the collision near Reagan National Airport Wednesday night of a helicopter and a passenger plane. Video of the crash seems to show the helicopter flying straight into the passenger plane. Early reports say there was about 60 passengers and four crew members on the plane. Rescue operations are ongoing.

FAA statement: “A PSA Airlines Bombardier CRJ700 regional jet collided in midair with a Sikorsky H-60 helicopter while on approach to Runway 33 at Reagan Washington National Airport around 9 p.m. local time. PSA was operating as Flight 5342 for American Airlines. It departed from Wichita, Kansas. The FAA and NTSB will investigate. The NTSB will lead the investigation.”
