Bessent Reveals President Trump Says Tonight’s U.S. Operation Against Iran Will Be the “BIGGEST Bombing Campaign Yet”

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent revealed that the United States is preparing to launch what President Donald Trump has described as the largest bombing campaign yet against Iran, as American forces intensify their military operation targeting the Iranian regime’s missile infrastructure.

Speaking about the ongoing conflict, Bessent said the Iranian regime is currently losing on the battlefield and is being overwhelmed by the coordinated military pressure from U.S. forces and their allies.

According to Bessent, tonight’s operation is expected to deliver the most significant blow so far to Iran’s military capabilities.

“A losing military battle where they’re being overwhelmed,” Bessent said.

“As Secretary Hegseth, General Caine, and the President have all said, tonight will be our biggest bombing campaign, and we’ll do the most damage to the Iranian missile launchers and the factories that build the missiles.”

Bessent emphasized that the United States has already inflicted severe damage on Iran’s military infrastructure and that the campaign is steadily degrading the regime’s ability to threaten American forces and regional allies.

“We are substantially degrading them,” Bessent said. “Our campaign has been overwhelming.”

The remarks come as the Trump administration ramps up pressure on Tehran following a series of escalating confrontations in the Middle East. U.S. officials say Iranian missile sites, weapons factories, and other strategic military assets are being systematically targeted in order to cripple the regime’s offensive capabilities.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has confirmed strikes on two of Iran’s most significant “motherships” or drone carriers.

A U.S. fast-attack submarine (reportedly the USS Charlotte) fired a Mark 48 torpedo to sink the Iranian frigate IRIS Dena in the Indian Ocean.

Bessent noted that, unable to gain ground militarily, Iranian leaders are now attempting to destabilize the global economy as a form of retaliation.

“Having not been able to succeed there, they’re trying to create economic chaos,” Bessent explained. “And I don’t think they’re going to be able to do it.”

The Treasury Secretary also pushed back against media narratives questioning the effectiveness of the operation, suggesting that critics in the press are ignoring the strategic planning behind the campaign.

“There are a lot of headline writers and a lot of other networks that want to speak to the contrary,” Bessent said. “But we’ve considered all this. This is in the President’s calculus, and things are proceeding as planned.”

Military officials have already indicated that U.S. forces are targeting not only Iran’s current stockpile of weapons but also the industrial infrastructure responsible for building future missiles, a strategy designed to permanently degrade the regime’s military capacity.
