In the early morning hours of August 24, 2018, a violent confrontation shattered the quiet community of Clyde Township, Michigan, when Joshua Michael Bowman, the estranged husband of Ashly Reifert, entered her apartment and murdered 45-year-old Port Huron Police Lt. Joel Michael Wood, a respected 23-year veteran of the force, who was off-duty that night.

Joshua Michael Bauman, then 30, who was estranged from his wife, Ashly (now Ashly Reifert), after they had filed for divorce, used a tracking device he attached to her vehicle to monitor her movements. After tracking his estranged wife, Ashly Reifert, and Lt. Wood from a comedy show and dinner to her apartment, Bauman returned home, armed himself with a .38-caliber handgun, and drove back to confront them. What began as a jealous obsession over his failed marriage escalated into a deadly home invasion: Bauman kicked in the door, entered the bedroom where Reifert and Wood were intimate, and opened fire, ultimately shooting Wood multiple times—including a final shot to the head after reloading—while also wounding his estranged wife and a neighbor who attempted to intervene.
Lt. Joel M. Wood
Bauman was convicted of first-degree premeditated murder as well as 4 additional charges and received a life sentence without the possibility of parole. Wood’s death left the Port Huron Police Department, his mother, and his 3 children mourning the loss of the long-time veteran officer. At his sentencing, Woods’ daughter, Farrah, told the court that after the shooting, she and her mother rarely left the house. She missed a full month of school and quit her job. Whenever she heard sirens, she would cover her ears, feel sick to her stomach, and think about how her father couldn’t be saved.

While Bauman, who was awaiting his high-profile murder trial of a well-known and highly respected police lieutenant, was in the St. Clair County jail in 2018, he was registered to vote on October 2, 2020. As everyone knows, the Democrats needed every voter they could get in 2020 to prevent President Trump from being re-elected. Bauman, who has no prior voting history, voted in the November 2020 general election. He was sentenced on May 11, 2021, and, according to Check My Vote, whose voting records are updated monthly and are based on the Michigan Qualified Voter Rolls, has not voted since 2020. We have no way of knowing who registered him to vote, but in Detroit and other Democratic stronghold cities (more on that to come soon), violent criminals are regularly registered to vote while they sit in jail and await their trials.

According to Michigan law, the convicted murderer should have been removed from the voter rolls (or the state’s QVF, or Qualified Voter File), a centralized database that is managed by Democrat Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, who frequently attempts to mislead the public when she falsely claims that her voter rolls are regularly purged of ineligible voters. Democrat SOS Jocelyn Benson, who will administer her own election in 2026, when her name could appear on the ballot as the Democratic candidate for governor in Michigan, has remained defiant amid calls from leading election integrity experts to clean up the voter rolls. Benson has recently been in the spotlight over her refusal to comply with the DOJ’s request to access Michigan’s voter rolls to identify ineligible voters. Will this newly discovered phenomenon of registering accused criminals while they await trial, just another scam by Democrats, the Gateway Pundit has uncovered that will help them to bulk up the voter rolls in advance of the next election?

Joshua Baumon, who is serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole for killing a police lieutenant, is not only still registered to vote in the state of Michigan, but he is registered as a PERMANENT ABSENTEE voter with a forwarding address in Roseville, MI, where a person with the same last name is living, which means if someone wanted to, they could fill out his ballot and send it back to the clerk’s office, where his ballot could be tabulated and very possibly go undetected.
He MURDERED a cop and is still on Michigan’s permanent absentee voter list! Can anyone make sense of this?

Check My Vote, a third party website created by the brilliant Phani Mantravadi that everyday citizens can use to look up addresses and discover who is registered to vote at specific addresses in multiple states including Michigan, gave us the ability to discover that this cop killer, was registered to vote as a “permanent absentee” voter, despite Michigan election law 168.758b, that’s been in place since 1950, that disqualifies a person confined in jail or prison after sentencing for a felony or misdemeanor is from voting. Election integrity experts have warned that “permanent absentee” status lends itself to mass voter fraud. This is a perfect example of why their warnings should be taken. seriously.
Although a Michigan sheriff working at a local jail has told us “off the record” the names of some of the leftist groups who are coming into prisons to register voters, we cannot confirm the groups who are responsible for the registration drives in jails across Michigan at this time. We can, however, confirm that many of these prisoners do not come off the voter rolls once they’ve been sentenced to life in prison without any chance of parole. Stay tuned for our next update on some of Michigan’s worst criminals being registered from their jail cells, and even one we discovered who voted after they were sentenced to prison.
