The search for Nancy Guthrie has now reached a little over two weeks.
Arizona authorities and the FBI have been working around the clock for the last two weeks in an attempt to find the mother of NBC star Savannah Guthrie, but as of yet, they do not have a name of a potential suspect.
On Monday afternoon, President Trump, in an interview with The New York Post, weighed in on the investigation and issued a warning to the kidnappers of Nancy Guthrie.
Trump warned the kidnappers must bring Nancy back alive immediately and even suggested the abductors should get the death penalty.
Per The New York Post:
President Trump told The Post Monday that those responsible for kidnapping Nancy Guthrie must release her unharmed or they will face the “most severe” federal penalties.
In a brief phone interview, Trump said he would want the Justice Department to seek the death penalty if the 84-year-old mother of NBC “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie is killed.
The president said the abductors would face “very, very severe — the most severe” federal consequences if Nancy Guthrie is found dead after being abducted from her home outside Tucson on Feb. 1.
Asked if that meant the DOJ would request the death penalty, Trump answered: “The most, yeah — that’s true.”
On Friday, President Trump addressed questions about why the Pima County Sheriff’s Department remains the lead on the investigation rather than the FBI.
Trump stated, “They didn’t want to let go of it, which is fine. It’s up to them. It’s really up to the communities.”

Despite not having a suspect’s name, authorities overseeing the investigation is starting to have some breakthroughs.
As The Gateway Pundit reported on Sunday, the FBI confirmed that the gloves discovered a few miles from Nancy Guthrie’s home match the gloves worn by the person seen in the porch doorbell video released by the FBI.
