Expecting parents across America are removing Frida Baby products from their registries and mothers and fathers are vowing a full boycott after resurfaced promotional materials and product packaging revealed a pattern of crude, sexual jokes about products designed for newborns and infants.
The popular brand, founded by Chelsea Hirschhorn in 2014, is known for products such as the NoseFrida snot-sucker, thermometers, and ear cleaners.
The firestorm of backlash erupted this week after TikTok videos, Reddit threads, and X posts began circulating screenshots of old ads and packaging.
Some of the most disturbing examples include:
A social media ad for a rectal thermometer featuring a baby’s bare bottom with the caption: “This is the closest your husband’s gonna get to a threesome.”
Packaging for a 3-in-1 ear, forehead, and touchless thermometer reading: “How about a quickie?”
A 3-in-1 gunk remover (for nose and ears) with the line: “When ‘just-the-tip’ has a new meaning.”
A humidifier box stating: “I get turned on easily.”
A package boasting: “I’m a [power] sucker.”
A recent breastfeeding-related post that opened with: “Boobs, everyone loves to see them,” before showing graphic pumping and feeding images.
And perhaps worst of all, a now-deleted 2020 Instagram post showing a baby with nasal discharge and the caption: “What happens when you pull out too early #nosefrida #dontmove.”
As soon as the outrage and disgust went viral, the brand began to scrub social media posts.

Amid the backlash, the company also unpublished the page on its website that lists its leadership.
These are not isolated mistakes. The slogans are printed directly on boxes purchased from major retailers like Target.
A viral Reddit thread in r/NewParents titled “Boycott Frida Baby” laid out the evidence in detail and quickly racked up hundreds of comments.
One top comment read, “The reference to cum on a baby’s face was a little too far for me.” Another parent wrote, “Putting phrases like this on product packaging when the products are meant for babies desensitizes the population to actual sexual abuse.”
The company has a history of inappropriate stunts.
In 2020, Frida Mom (the postpartum arm of the same brand) released an ad showing the realities of new motherhood, including mesh underwear and peri bottles, that was rejected by ABC for the Oscars as “too graphic.”
In March of last year, Frida teased a limited-edition ice cream flavor literally called “Breast Milk Ice Cream” as a stunt to promote their new 2-in-1 manual breast pump.

While the flavor wasn’t made with real breast milk, it was “inspired by” breast milk. The company boasted that it was sweet, slightly salty, with hints of honey and a “dash of colostrum.” The recipe included liposomal bovine colostrum (cow colostrum), plus standard ice cream ingredients.
