A government shutdown within the next few days is almost certain after House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer unveiled their list of 10 demands for signing off on DHS funding.
As The Gateway Pundit’s Jordan Conradson reported, The House of Representatives voted 217-214 on Tuesday to partially fund the government and end the partial shutdown.
The legislation contains a five-bill package which funds the following departments: Defense; Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies; Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies; Financial Services and General Government; and National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs.
The bill to end the shutdown also included less than two weeks of DHS funding, which will expire on February 13.
On Wednesday, Jeffries and Schumer released their so-called core demands for signing off on long-term DHS funding. Should these demands not be met, Democrats will go ahead and shut down the government.
Included in the demands requiring warrants for ICE and DHS officers to arrest ANY of the 20 million illegal aliens in America, including violent criminals, along with the unmasking of ICE Agents.
Schumer and Jeffries also want to bar immigration enforcement from entering schools, churches, courts, and polling places.
Other demands allow states to sue DHS for any violations, requiring agents to give their full identity to agitators, stopping so-called ‘racial profiling,’ and permitting states to conduct witch-hunts against immigration agents.

Make no mistake: this is not a serious offer. The fundamental goal for Schumer and Jeffries is to hamstring immigration enforcement so thoroughly that the Trump Administration will have to do nothing to deport illegal aliens from America effectively.
In addition to the 10 crazy requests, Schumer and Jeffries suggest in their letter that Trump should immediately fire DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and withdraw all immigration agents from Minnesota.
House Speaker Mike Johnson previously explained that any attempt by Democrats to hold up long-term funding for DHS over objections to immigration enforcement would be futile, because ICE and CBP received an influx of money in last year’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
He also said the agencies that would be affected carry out important services like disaster aid and airport security.
