A South Carolina woman who thought she was going to bring a beloved four-legged companion into her family instead met a horrible death thanks to three demons.

As WBMF reported, 40-year-old Dana Marie Kinlaw of Effingham on January 22 rode in a car with a young woman who she thought was her friend to go purchase a puppy, supposedly.

But as Florence County Sheriff TJ Joye explained to the outlet, her ‘friend’ had a far more sinister motive. He explained that Kinlaw was driving with 19-year-old Iryanna Jarissa Fleming when they stopped on a road in the rural woodlands 95 miles east of Columbia.

When they arrived, two other individuals, Daquinn Taheen Thomas and Nikko Christopher Carraway, were present. Fleming and the other two thugs proceeded to shoot Kinlaw before pouring an unidentified liquid over her body.

Then, they set Kinlaw on fire inside the car.

Police responded at roughly 5:45 pm. and stumbled upon the horrifying scene.

Police caught up with Fleming and Thomas hours later and placed them both in custody. They have been charged with the following crimes: murder, first-degree arson, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

Fleming and Thomas are currently being held at the Florence County Detention Center, awaiting a bond hearing.

The New York Post reported that Carraway was arrested Wednesday and charged with the same three crimes as the other two.

According to WBMF, officials suspect Kinlaw’s murder was in revenge for a recent killing in the neighboring county of Darlington.

“We believe there was a murder committed in Darlington County, which we made the arrest in Lake City that connects them to that arrest with Darlington County officials,” Joye explained. “We feel that her (Kinlaw’s) son was involved in that in some way, shape, or form, and we feel this is a retaliation for that murder.”

The Post reviewed court records which revealed that Thomas and Carraway have a lengthy list of criminal cases in Florence County dating back to 2014.

For example, Thomas has faced multiple attempted murder and violent armed robbery charges. He was most recently sentenced to 9 months in prison back in March 2025 for possessing a firearm as a convicted criminal.
