Washed-up 1980s actress Molly Ringwald has declared the Trump administration a full-blown “fascist government” and warned that anyone supporting the president’s policies, especially on immigration, will be branded as traitors and face punishment once Democrats gain power.
The former teen star, best known for films like Sixteen Candles and Pretty in Pink, posted a four-minute video on social media where she compared Trump supporters to Nazi collaborators in World War II France.
“I feel like I can’t stay silent, and neither should you,” Ringwald said. “There’s something horrible going on in our country right now — we had one of the greatest countries in the world — but right now, this is a fascist government.”
“It’s not becoming a fascist government, it is a fascist government,” Ringwald continued. “ICE is brutalizing people.”
Drawing a wildly inappropriate parallel to Nazi-occupied France, Ringwald continued, “If you look at what happened in France, they were taken over by the Nazis. They were invaded, they were taken over and a lot of people collaborated, and then there were people that did not collaborate and were part of the resistance. Eventually, they got their country back, and those people who collaborated were found to be criminal.”
Ringwald claimed that the same will happen to supporters of President Donald Trump.
“That is what’s going to happen. You should not support what is going on,” she said, claiming that if you continue supporting the president, “You are going to be seen as a collaborationist.”

For those unfamiliar, France’s post-WWII “legal purge” involved trials, executions, and imprisonment for those accused of aiding the Nazis.
Ringwald previously called the Republican Party the “rape party” and whined that The Breakfast Club, the film she is best known for, is too “very white” for modern audiences.
