Mayhem In Minneapolis

The riots in Minneapolis have escalated in recent weeks in response to two shootings involving ICE and Border Patrol agents reacting to violent agitators who were either armed or attempting to inflict severe bodily injury upon law enforcement.

In both scenarios, Renee Good and Alex Pretti were attempting to obstruct law enforcement from carrying out their official duties.

They were unquestionably in the wrong.  In the case of Renee Good, an ICE agent acted out of self-defense when she tried to run him over with her car.  Video evidence clearly showed Good as being the aggressor.

For Pretti, video evidence also confirms that he arrived at the scene as an agitator who tried to interrupt or obstruct the deportation operation from taking place.

A Border Patrol agent responded to an imminent threat to life, and video evidence supports this, with Pretti pictured showing up at the scene of the incident, claiming to be armed and with the intention to “massacre” ICE and CBP agents, as he motioned toward what looked like a weapon of some kind.

Both deaths are tragic.  But they are tragic not in the way the legacy media would like Americans to believe, they are tragic because they could have been avoided but for the irresponsible management of these situations by political leadership.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey failed their state and city, respectively.  Rather than lower the temperature, both leaders added to the inflammatory rhetoric, which had the effect of inciting the crowd and causing more unnecessary mayhem.

The only reason there is a national spotlight on ICE and Border Patrol nowadays is because deportations are a core component of President Trump’s domestic policy agenda, and arguably the top one or two reasons why he won a landslide election victory in November of 2024.

Americans simply dislike illegal immigration.  They especially dislike it on the unspeakable scale that was allowed to take place under the four years Joe Biden served as president, resulting in an unprecedented border invasion that resulted in at least 20 million illegal aliens entering the homeland.

Under Obama, ICE and CBP were allowed to do their jobs – and they did so mostly uncontroversially, where his administration deported illegal immigrants en masse, at a clip that rivals (and by some estimates, outpaces) that seen by President Trump during his second administration.

However, because now President Trump is the one supportive of the policy, Democratic politicians and their mainstream media apparatchiks must respond unfavorably and endorse the exact opposite of what the President is doing, as has become their mantra.

The result of this strategy has been catastrophic – it’s logically incoherent, first of all, for it fails to allow any politician to take a meaningful stance on border security, a necessary condition for nationhood.

Second, it rouses mentally unstable individuals, who are financially backed by groups like the Soros-funded “Indecisive Twin Cities,” which pays rioters sometimes tens of thousands of dollars to show up in the streets as left-wing paramilitary troops, and obstruct law enforcement, with vile rhetoric and sometimes even armed conflict, from carrying out their duties.

It is one of the most challenging tasks in America to enter the heart of deep blue, Democratic-led sanctuary cities like Minneapolis, Portland, or New York, and execute a job that is utterly disdained by one of the two major political parties in America (even though overwhelming majorities of voters do support border security measures and mass deportations generally by wide margins).

Thus, from the outset, ICE and Border Patrol have difficult missions.

Recognizing this fact, it should be the prerogative of every elected official, whether they be Democrat or Republican, to provide the support these agents need to carry out their duties, while taking precautions to de-escalate incendiary political rhetoric that could send an unstable individual, as in the case of Good or Pretti, into a dangerous situation made worse by their own stupidity.

While the First Amendment enshrines the right to peacefully assemble, it does not allow violent agitators, using harmful and inciteful rhetoric, to obstruct a lawful government operation.

The stakes are extremely high today because the situation law enforcement is responding to has no parallel in American history.

This is a scenario in which 20 million or more illegals, many violent criminal terrorists, have penetrated our country’s borders, which is tantamount to a full-scale invasion, Democratic politicians, from Barack Obama to Zohran Mamdani, now posting self-righteously about the conduct of ICE agents, who are forced into perilous situations in many cases by their own, irresponsible words, should be ashamed of themselves for deliberately stirring up the pot.

They should also take full responsibility for the conditions that have resulted in widespread civil unrest.

The same can be said of the mainstream media, which works arm in arm with the Democratic leaders to contrive a narrative that makes it seem like federal law enforcement are in the wrong for merely enforcing the nation’s laws.

Democrats know that open borders are wildly unpopular; they also know they cannot win legislatively with policies that would call for the defunding of border patrol and the opening of our borders to the world, seeing as many Democratic voters do not even support this.

As such, they are forced to gaslight the public with pathetic narratives that cast ICE agents as the villains who have gone too far in their mandate, and the mentally unstable rioters who are threatening to kill law enforcement agents as heroes.

The Democratic playbook is an inversion of the basic principles of justice and morality.

The implicit policy of all Democratic policymakers is that law enforcement is almost always in the wrong, because their understanding of justice requires seeing all criminals – particularly, racial minorities – as casualties of an oppressive system, and therefore fundamentally unjust.

Similarly, they believe there is no such thing as an illegal alien because their morality does not permit the distinction between citizen and non-citizen.

Thus, whenever an ICE agent attempts to deport an illegal, including ones that have committed absolutely heinous felonies like homicide, human trafficking, or drug smuggling, the Democratic Party must get riled up and condemn the maneuver, no matter how damning the facts may be, because every crimes pales relative to the act of deportation, which violates a core precept of how Democrats understand justice.

Democratic lawmakers may claim to be moderates, but their ideologies are driven by a Marxist, communist, and fundamentally anarchic view of the world.  This view is not conducive to civilization.

If permitted to metastasize, as is allowed to occur in cities like Minneapolis, Portland, San Francisco, it will necessarily lead to the breakdown of civilization.

This is the prime driver of their worldview, whether they recognize it or not.  This is also why they allow George Soros and other subversive NGOs, often relying at least in part on taxpayer dollars, to finance unlawful behavior, often with significant rewards attached.

These efforts achieve the dual goals of sowing chaos in the cities while kowtowing a gullible portion of the public, distressed by the scenes they see playing out on television, into submission with the Democrats’ open-borders mandate.

America should not let this stand.  ICE and CBP should be allowed to perform their job duties without the added stress of Democratic lawmakers – backed by several spineless Republicans – calling for them to be defunded, and those at the frontlines, investigated or prosecuted.

They are performing a patriotic service that if allowed to continue unabated will go a long way towards restoring the rule of law in America; may they fulfill that responsibility, and may God continue to protect our patriotic ICE and Border Patrol agents for as long as they need until the job gets done.
