Tim Walz came out during a press conference on Saturday and declared that he plans to prosecute ICE agents and encouraged leftwing activists to continue rioting, following a CBP-involved shooting of a man who assaulted law enforcement and pulled a gun on officers.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Border Patrol fatally shot the man, identified as 37-year-old Alex Jeffrey Pretti, during a struggle this morning after the suspect pulled his gun out. This comes amid tensions following the shooting death of Renee Good after she tried to ram federal agents with her vehicle.
“The officers attempted to disarm the suspect but the armed suspect violently resisted. More details on the armed struggle are forthcoming,” the Department of Homeland Security said in a statement. “Fearing for his life and the lives and safety of fellow officers, an agent fired defensive shots. Medics on scene immediately delivered medical aid to the subject but was pronounced dead at the scene.”
The statement continued, “The suspect also had 2 magazines and no ID—this looks like a situation where an individual wanted to do maximum damage and massacre law enforcement.”
Violent rioting has since broken out in Minnesota. The Gateway Pundit reported that violent leftists have been clashing with ICE and setting fires as law enforcement deploys crowd control measures.

Tim Walz delivered a press conference this afternoon, echoing similar comments from earlier, where he demanded that President Trump “Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.”
He further declared that the state of Minnesota is “creating a log of evidence for the future prosecution of ICE agents and officials responsible for this,” and decried what he called “the horrific cruelty, unprofessional, absolute abomination that is passing for what these ICE agents are doing on our streets.”
“They think they can provoke us into abandoning our values. Well, they’re dead wrong,” he added after claiming that the protests are occurring “loudly and urgently but peacefully.”
Meanwhile, he refused to mention or condemn the attempted violence against officers by the gun-wielding lunatic.

Walz: Yesterday was the best of Minnesotans, peacefully exercising their First Amendment rights, and I attended in the church basement, hundreds of Minnesotans from all faith packing care packages for families that have been ripped apart. Despite the horrific acts by this federal government, Minnesotans are standing up for the rule of law. They’re protesting loudly and urgently but peacefully. It must stay that way, Minnesota.
Minnesotans are witnessing, and we’re creating a log of evidence for the future prosecution of ICE agents and officials responsible for this. They’re helping their neighbors, they’re walking their kids to school, they’re feeding families. I salute their courage and their restraint, and I call on all Americans to see the decency that this state is exhibiting, and the horrific cruelty, unprofessional, absolute abomination that is passing for what these ICE agents are doing on our streets.
They think they can provoke us into abandoning our values. Well, they’re dead wrong, we’ll keep the peace, we’ll secure the justice with our neighbors, and we’ll see this occupation ends. Minnesotans and Minnesota law enforcement that continuously is being denigrated by this administration will continue to be the adults in the room, the professionals in the room, the decent human beings in the room that will keep the peace.
As The Gateway Pundit reported earlier, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey also condemned ICE without mentioning the gun-wielding suspect earlier, claiming, “Six masked agents pummeled our constituents and shot him to death!”
“The invasion of these heavily armed masked agents emboldened with a sense of impunity, it has to end!” he said.
