Heroic Texas Father Rescues Kidnapped Daughter on Christmas Day by Tracking Her Phone – Suspect in Custody Without Bond

A Texas father was a hero on Christmas Day after using his daughter’s phone tracking feature to locate and rescue her from a kidnapper.

The event unfolded in Porter, Texas, a small community just outside Houston, where a 15-year-old girl was abducted at knifepoint while walking her dog.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), the ordeal began around midday on Christmas, when the teenager took her dog for a routine walk but failed to return home at her expected time.

Her concerned parents immediately sprang into action, utilizing the location-tracking capabilities built into her cell phone via parental controls. The father traced the signal to a secluded, partially wooded area in nearby Harris County, approximately two miles from their home.

Upon arriving at the location, the father discovered his daughter and her dog inside a maroon-colored pickup truck with a 23-year-old man, later identified as Giovanni Rosales Espinoza of Porter.

Espinoza was found partially nude, and authorities allege he had threatened the girl with a knife before forcing her into the vehicle from the street.

The brave father helped his daughter escape the truck and immediately contacted law enforcement.

MCSO deputies responded to the family’s home in Porter around 4:50 p.m. that day.

“Upon arrival, deputies learned that the victim had taken her dog out for a walk and when she did not return at her usual time, her parents became concerned. Using parental controls to locate the victim’s phone, her father traveled to a secluded, partially wooded area in Harris County nearly 2 miles away,” the Sheriff’s Office said.

Armed with descriptions provided by the victim and witnesses, they quickly located and apprehended Espinoza without incident.

Espinoza has been charged with aggravated kidnapping and indecency with a child.

The predator is currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail without bond, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Sheriff Wesley Doolittle of Montgomery County praised his team’s rapid response in a statement, highlighting the commitment to community safety even on a holiday.

“Christmas is a day meant for joy, but this man chose to shatter that joy by targeting a child,” Doolittle said. “I am incredibly proud of our deputies and detectives who worked tirelessly to ensure this dangerous predator was swiftly apprehended and is now off our streets. Rest assured that your Sheriff’s Office remains vigilant every hour of every day to keep your families safe.”

Authorities have not released further details about Espinoza’s background or any potential prior offenses.
