Maria Bartiromo interviews Doug Burgum on FOX Business – Screencap of YouTube video.
Trump’s Interior Secretary Doug Burgum recently appeared on the FOX Business Network with Maria Bartiromo and explained the administration’s plans to ramp up energy production in the coming year.
Burgum pointed out that liquid and natural gas production is going to increase and that because Trump is president, we now have the ability to not only produce this energy but to sell it to our Pacific region allies like Japan, meaning that it is going to bring in massive amounts of revenue.
When asked about AI data centers and the amount of energy they consume, Burgum noted that many of these centers actually end up upgrading energy infrastructure for a community and build in the cost of energy, causing local rates to go lower.
He also talks extensively about the national petroleum reserve in Alaska which Bartiromo explains is causing lawsuits from environmental groups. Burgum counters by noting that many of these groups are funded in part by Russia and Iran because those countries do not want the United States to expand energy production.
Breitbart News recently reported on this:
Host Maria Bartiromo asked, [relevant exchange begins around 4:15] “Washington is pushing to expand U.S. energy supply, green-lighting the ConocoPhillips exploratory oil drilling project in Alaska. That strategy is also, however, facing legal pushback, you’ve environmental groups suing the Interior Department over the approval of this new oil exploration on the National Petroleum Reserve. Secretary, what are you going to do about this? Give us the backdrop.”
Burgum responded by pointing to how the oil would be useful for America’s Asian allies and saying that “some of these complaints are not based in reality, they’re not based in protecting the environment, they might be trying to protect their own cause or their own whatever. But some of these — we know, over the last decade, some of the folks that were focused on climate catastrophe were actually being funded by dark money from foreign sources, including Russia. Of course, Russia and Iran want the United States to stop producing energy so they can use it to fund wars and fund terrorism.”

Energy is everything and the Trump administration understands this. If energy prices are high, it creates a ripple effect that touches almost every other part o the national economy. Doug Burgum always does a great job of explaining these issues. He was an excellent choice for this role in the administration.
