Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent was confronted at a DC restaurant on Wednesday night by far-left CODEPINK activists, in what he later described as a “setup” involving the restaurant’s owner.
He said it was the Reveler’s Hour restaurant north of the White House, and the food wasn’t good.
Olivia DiNucci led the protest inside the restaurant, tapping her glass then shouting, “We want to make an announcement! We have a special guest here, and we want to make a toast for the Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Bessent!”
She continued, “So let’s give it up for the man who is eating in peace as people starve across the world based on his sanctions, which are economic warfare.”
Bessent and others, who were just trying to enjoy their meals, began booing the CODEPINK freaks, and some visibly showed annoyance.
Another activist shouted back at his critics, “Of course you’re going to boo this. It’s the truth!” DiNucci continued, “He oversees the deaths of 600,000 people due to sanctions annually,” prompting Bessent to fire back, “You are ignorant, and you have no idea how ignorant you are,” while raising his wine glass.
“How many people are going to die because of the blood that’s on your hands?” DiNucci continued as Bessent complained to the wait staff, who apparently took no action.
One particularly queer activist, who said he was sitting “next to” Bessent, claimed that “he spit in his food, stood up, looked at the waiter, and sauntered off like a real housewife.”

Bessent later joined Fox’s Laura Ingraham to discuss the incident, which he said he “wasn’t that sad” about because “the food wasn’t very good at the restaurant.”
It was “clear that the restaurant owner was in on it with her. It was a setup,” he said. “Don’t worry, restaurants called Revelers Hour, and we’ll be having MAGA night there sometime in the next month. We hope everybody will show up for that.“
He further roasted the “deranged woman,” saying, “Clearly, her dad didn’t pat her on the head enough when she was younger. So now, the rest of us have to live with this.”

Bessent: First of all, I’m not going to be a coward. And you heard the booes on there. They were booing that deranged woman, who clearly, her dad didn’t pat her on the head enough when she was younger. So now, the rest of us have to live with this. I wasn’t that sad to be interrupted because the food wasn’t very good at the restaurant, and it was also clear that the restaurant owner was in on it with her. It was a setup.
