SECURE THE WESTERN HEMISPHERE: MSM Scared of Trump-Linked Rightwing Surge in Latin America After Kast Victory in Chile

Trump is making the difference in LATAM.

‘Cone Sur’ chooses liberty over Socialism’s lies.

Ever since Donald J. Trump got reelected, there were signs that the Western Hemisphere was again going to be a high priority for the US, and that the extra-hemispherial powers (namely Russia, China and Iran) were going to have their footholds in Latin America disputed.

And, sure enough, the process is ongoing, with El Salvador, Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru, Honduras, Ecuador and now Chile, among others, heading ‘the right way’.

Chile is the latest Latin American nation to go right, electing a Trump-aligned conservative politician, José Antonio Kast, who has long supported the new US administration.

January 20th, 2025: ‘For the good of Chile, Latin America and the world, the best wishes of success for President Donald Trump in his new mandate as President of the US. A freer and more secure US that recovers economic progress is a decisive impulse to the rest of the nations.’

Politico reported:

“The president-elect, José Antonio Kast, has expressed nostalgia for the 17-year military dictatorship of the late Gen. Augusto Pinochet, opposed the legalization of same-sex marriage and advocated in recent years for a constitutional ban on abortion.

Those stances, which some say sabotaged Kast’s previous presidential bids in the increasingly liberal country, didn’t seem to matter in Sunday’s election.”

Milei on X: ‘the left recedes, liberty advances.’

Kast won a landslide victory in a country wrecked by a brutal rise in organized crime – a scourge plaguing most of the subcontinent.

Even Politico’s ‘experts’ have to acknowledge the rightwing surge.

“Experts say this reflects the pervasive anti-incumbent mood that has gripped South America and, significantly, boosted the radical right at time when Trump is seeking to influence the region’s political future.

It’s a dramatic turn from only two decades ago, when the commodities boom brought to power the so-called ‘pink tide’ of left-wing leaders, like the late socialist icon Hugo Chávez, who whipped up voters by railing against U.S. imperialism and vowing to redistribute their nations’ wealth.”

El Salvador’s Bukele and Argentina’s Milei: the right advances.

Politico’s report tries its best to frame the present movement as a simple ‘anti-incumbent’ issue – but we know better than that.

In 2025, voters strengthened the mandates of Javier Milei in Argentina and Daniel Noboa in Ecuador, Bolivian citizens elected President Rodrigo Paz, while the right is getting stronger in Peru.

In Honduras, the leftists want to overturn a conservative victory, while Kast in Chile won in a landslide.

“Speaking to reporters in Washington, Trump praised Kast on Monday as ‘a very good person’, adding, ‘I look forward to pay(ing) my respects to him’.”
