President Trump delivers a solemn address from the Oval Office after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, calling it “a dark moment for America” and vowing justice.
President Trump announced on Tuesday that he plans to address the nation from the White House.
The year-end remarks, coming about two weeks before the new year, are expected to focus on the Trump Administration’s accomplishments since January 20, when Trump was inaugurated.
“It has been a great year for our Country, and THE BEST IS YET TO COME!” Trump said on Truth Social, teasing the announcement.
My Fellow Americans: I will be giving an ADDRESS TO THE NATION tomorrow night, LIVE FROM THE WHITE HOUSE, at 9 P.M. EST. I look forward to “seeing” you then. It has been a great year for our Country, and THE BEST IS YET TO COME!
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters that the President’s address would be a victory lap for his “accomplishments over the past 11 months, all that he’s done to bring our country back to greatness, and all he continues to plan to do to continue delivering for the American people over the next three years.“

Trump has delivered several addresses from the White House this term, but typically in the face of violent incidents like the murder of Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska, the assassination of Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk, and the shooting of two National Guardsmen in Washington, DC, last month.
