Hollywood actor Peter Greene was found dead in his New York City apartment on Friday afternoon.
Greene, 60, known for his roles in popular 90s movies “Pulp Fiction” and “The Mask,” was found unresponsive in his apartment and pronounced dead at the scene.
Police do not suspect foul play; however, the New York Daily News reported that a neighbor said Greene was found with a facial injury.
“Peter was lying on the floor, facedown, facial injury, blood everywhere..” the neighbor told New York Daily News.
There was also a handwritten note at the scene that read, “I’m still a Westie” — referring to a New York City-based Irish gang.
The New York Post reported:
Actor Peter Greene, best known for his roles in “The Mask” and “Pulp Fiction,” was found dead inside his Lower East Side apartment Friday afternoon, his longtime manager confirmed to The Post.
Greene, who established himself as an onscreen villain during the 1990s, was 60 years old.
He was found unresponsive inside his Clinton Street apartment around 3:25 p.m., and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police and Gregg Edwards, his manager of more than 10 years.
Cops said no foul play was suspected, but that a cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner.
“He was a terrific guy,” Edwards said Friday night.
The New York Post also reported that Greene’s longtime manager, Gregg Edwards, spoke with the actor on Wednesday, and he was “totally normal.”
“He sounded okay … It was just a totally normal conversation. He was a little nervous about the operation going in, but he said it wasn’t super serious,” Gregg Edwards told The Post.
