Billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk fired off a blunt message on X Tuesday, replying “No more White guilt” to a viral post claiming Generation Z is fed up with being shamed for historical sins they had no part in.

Musk’s comment has racked up over 131,000 likes and 9.2 million views as of Tuesday evening.

The exchange started with influencer Mario Nawfal, who posted a lengthy thread titled “WHITE GUILT IS DEAD: GEN Z IS DONE APOLOGIZING FOR HISTORY THEY DIDN’T WRITE.”

Nawfal argued that young whites, especially men, are tired of being blamed for colonialism, slavery, and inequality in schools, media, and workplaces.

“They’re tired of being treated like the villain in a movie they weren’t even alive to watch,” he wrote, slamming “woke institutions” for celebrating every identity except theirs and redefining “diversity” as exclusion of whites.

WHITE GUILT IS DEAD: GEN Z IS DONE APOLOGIZING FOR HISTORY THEY DIDN’T WRITE

For years, young people in the West, especially white men, have been told they’re the problem.

Nawfal’s post, viewed over 9 million times, built on Musk’s earlier statement saying, “No more anti-White propaganda.”

Musk then doubled down with his “No more White guilt” reply.

Recent studies on Gen Z attitudes show mixed results.

A 2023 Brookings Institute analysis found Gen Z will be the last U.S. generation with a white majority, highlighting a “racial generation gap” in views on issues like affirmative action and race education.

“This [ageing] is not race neutral,” the author of the new Brookings Institute study, William Frey, told The Guardian at the time. “White Americans contributed substantially to older population gains compared to younger and middle-aged populations, which registered white declines.”

Frey added, “These patterns have led to a ‘racial generation gap,’ in which the younger population – more influenced by immigration in recent decades – is far more diverse than older age groups.”

Meanwhile, a 2022 AP-NORC poll revealed Gen Z is more progressive on policies like anti-discrimination laws but shows ideological divides on race, with liberals more accepting of diverse representation than conservatives.

“Sharp ideological divides emerge within Gen Z—just like older generations—with issues of race being a touch point,” the pollsters reported. “Gen Z liberals are more accepting of all-Black executive teams and casts on TV shows and movies than conservatives, while conservatives are more accepting than liberals of all-white executive teams.”
