White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt will deliver a press briefing this afternoon, days after the horrific attack on National Guard troops in Washington, DC.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, two National Guard members were shot near the White House on Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, in an ambush attack by an Afghan national. Both were rushed to the hospital, and 20-year-old Army Specialist Sarah Beckstrom tragically succumbed to her injuries on Thanksgiving Day.
Air Force Staff Sergeant Andrew Wolfe remains hospitalized in critical condition.
President Trump told reporters on Sunday that he is planning to host the families of both victims to the White House to “honor Sarah and, likewise, with Andrew, recover or not, we’re going to honor you.”

The briefing also comes amid controversy surrounding six Democratic lawmakers who called for the military to defy the President’s lawful orders, as well as new claims from leftwing media and anonymous sources that War Secretary Pete Hegseth gave “illegal” orders.
President Trump responded on Sunday, backing Hegseth and assuring reporters that he has “great confidence” in him.
