Nevada’s 2020 GOP electors sign certificates casting the state’s electoral votes for President Donald J. Trump
Nevada’s far-left Attorney General Aaron Ford wasted no time issuing a triumphant statement after the Nevada Supreme Court revived criminal charges against the state’s 2020 Trump alternate electors.
The Gateway Pundit reported earlier that the Nevada Supreme Court has reversed a lower court ruling, allowing the radical Democrat attorney general to continue his relentless persecution of six patriotic Republicans who dared to stand up for election integrity in 2020.
The case stems from the chaotic aftermath of the 2020 presidential election, where widespread irregularities and fraud claims, ignored by the mainstream media and corrupt officials, prompted Nevada Republicans to nominate alternate electors.
According to ABC News, “After the 2020 election, the six electors gathered outside of the Nevada Legislature to sign certificates giving the state’s six electoral votes to Trump, despite former President Joe Biden winning the state by more than 30,000 votes. The ceremony was broadcast online, and the video footage was used as evidence in the case.”
Nevada Republican Party Chairman Michael McDonald, Nevada Republican Party National Committeeman Jim DeGraffenreid, Clark County Republican Party Chairman Jesse Law, Storey County Clerk Jim Hindle, and Republican operatives Shawn Meehan and Eileen Rice were charged with uttering forged instruments and offering false instruments for filing titled “Certificate of the Votes of the 2020 Electors from Nevada.”
These trumped-up charges accuse them of signing and mailing certificates declaring themselves Nevada’s rightful electors for President Donald Trump, even after the state certified results for Joe Biden amid serious questions about ballot harvesting and voter fraud.
“When the efforts to undermine faith in our democracy began after the 2020 election, I made it clear that I would do everything in my power to defend the institutions of our nation and our state,” Democrat Attorney General Aaron Ford said in a statement in 2023 after it was revealed he was quietly investigating Trump’s 2020 alternate electors.
“We cannot allow attacks on democracy to go unchallenged. Today’s indictments are the product of a long and thorough investigation, and as we enter into litigation, I am confident that our judicial system will see justice done.”
The district court previously threw the case out, ruling that because the mail was sent from Douglas County, that was where any alleged “crime” occurred, not Las Vegas.
The ruling by Clark County District Court Judge Mary Kay Holthus to dismiss the case didn’t sit well with Aaron Ford, Nevada’s radical AG, who vowed to take his case directly to the US Supreme Court.
AG Ford blamed the judge, who he said “got it wrong!” and warned, “We’ll be appealing immediately!”
Ford appealed, seeking to move the case into Clark County, a deep-blue stronghold where Democrats dominate the jury pool.

On Thursday, the Nevada Supreme Court, in a unanimous opinion penned by Justice Douglas Stiglich, handed AG Ford a victory, ruling that the venue can be Clark County simply because the envelope passed through the Las Vegas federal courthouse before being forwarded to Judge Miranda Du’s chambers in Reno, Washoe County.
“We conclude that venue was properly laid in Clark County because the offenses charged were not complete upon mailing but rather necessarily involved the receipt of the certificates at the location to which they were mailed. Respondents do not dispute that the certificates were delivered to a recipient in Clark County. The district court erred in concluding that the alleged crimes were complete upon mailing from Douglas County. We therefore reverse and remand,” Stiglich wrote.
The respondents (electors) argued that the documents were never opened or processed in Las Vegas, Clark County, they were immediately forwarded to Reno, Washoe County.
The justices ruled that because the envelope was delivered to the Las Vegas address printed on it, that’s enough to classify Clark County as a proper venue, even if the documents were untouched and merely rerouted.
“Respondents first counter that the district court correctly concluded that mailing completed the offenses. Alternatively, respondents argue that nothing was delivered in Clark County because, after arriving in Las Vegas, the documents were transmitted to and opened by Judge Du in Reno.
Respondents argue that the Las Vegas address was a “pit stop” from which the documents were forwarded to the court address in Reno and that the Las Vegas address was thus a mistake.
We agree with the State that Clark County was a proper venue because the offenses involved false statements directed to Judge Du at the federal court in Las Vegas.
Respondents directed the documents to be sent to the federal court in order to perpetrate a fraud there.
This conclusion accords with a plain reading of the criminal statutes and practice in other jurisdictions and is not repelled by respondents’ contention that they intended the documents to reach a recipient in Reno.”
Within hours of the ruling, Radical AG Ford released a gleeful statement praising the court’s decision:
“Today the Nevada Supreme Court affirmed what we have maintained all along – that Clark County is the proper and lawful venue to prosecute our case, and I am pleased with the court’s decision to overturn the District Court’s dismissal of our case in Clark County.
The 2020 fake electors cannot evade accountability in Nevada for their unlawful actions. As attorney general, it is my duty to hold those who sought to undermine the results of our state’s free and fair election responsible.
With this ruling, we will return to the Eighth Judicial District Court in Clark County and continue our work to ensure that justice is served.”

The case now returns to Clark County, where Democrat prosecutors will attempt to put Trump electors on trial in Las Vegas, one of the bluest jurisdictions in the state.
Republicans must rally behind these brave individuals and demand that these charges be dropped. Election integrity is the bedrock of our republic, and we won’t let Democrats destroy it through bogus prosecutions.
