President Donald Trump unleashed a fiery rant against NBC late-night host Seth Meyers over the weekend, labeling him a “deranged lunatic” and saying his constant anti-Trump coverage is “probably illegal.”
In a Truth Social post, Trump criticized Meyers’ talent (or lack thereof), ratings, and the overall show.
The president wrote:
Seth Meyers of NBC may be the least talented person to “perform” live in the history of television. In fact, he may be the WORST to perform, live or otherwise. I watched his show the other night for the first time in years. In it he talked endlessly about electric catapults on aircraft carriers which I complain about as not being as good as much less expensive steam catapults. On and on he went, a truly deranged lunatic. Why does NBC waste its time and money on a guy like this??? – NO TALENT, NO RATINGS, 100% ANTI TRUMP, WHICH IS PROBABLY ILLEGAL!!!
The commentary stems from Meyers’ recent jabs at Trump, where the host quipped that Asia was giving Trump “the royal treatment he so desperately craves” but doesn’t get at home, and accused him of being “super-jealous of China’s authoritarian government.”
“He wishes he could get the same treatment back here at home. He made it clear, for example, that he’s super-jealous of China’s authoritarian government,” Meyers said.
This isn’t the first time Trump has targeted Meyers.
Back in August, Trump raged over rumors of Meyers’ contract extension, calling him a “dope” with “no Ratings, Talent, or Intelligence.”
The president wrote, “There is a sick rumor going around that Fake News NBC extended the contract of one of the least talented Late Night television hosts out there, Seth Meyers. He has no Ratings, Talent, or Intelligence, and the Personality of an insecure child. So, why would Fake News NBC extend this dope’s contract. I don’t know, but I’ll definitely be finding out!!!”
Meyers had renewed his NBC deal in 2024, extending it through 2028.
The late night host had not responded to the latest post as of Saturday evening.
