Cartel-Linked South American Theft Rings Dismantled by ICE

South American Theft Groups, transnational networks known for high-end burglaries and property crimes, have been exploiting America’s borders and visa system for years.

These criminal rings thrive by overstaying legitimate visas, infiltrating communities, and targeting homes and businesses with sophisticated tactics.

Yet once again, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has proven why strong enforcement matters, dismantling another cell in New Jersey before more families became victims.

On September 19, ICE Newark, working with the FBI and local law enforcement, arrested nine Chilean nationals in Jersey City and Princeton.

These individuals were part of coordinated theft groups that specialize in burglarizing wealthy neighborhoods and commercial properties.

While they initially entered the country legally, they chose to violate U.S. law by overstaying their visas and launching crime sprees that stretched across multiple states.

Some had already racked up lengthy criminal recordes—theft in Florida, fraudulent credit card use in Tennessee, burglary charges in Pennsylvania, and open warrants in other jurisdictions.

These were professional criminals who treated America’s generosity as an open door for exploitation.

Without ICE, these organized theft groups would continue to wreak havoc, targeting American families and businesses without consequence.

Visa overstays are just as dangerous as illegal border crossings. The immigration system is abused not only by those who sneak across the border but also by those who enter legally and then disappear into communities, using the system as cover for criminal operations.

This is why Republicans have been right to call for strict visa tracking, stronger enforcement, and increased penalties for those who violate immigration law.

Democrats, however, continue to undermine ICE, vilify agents, and push for sanctuary policies that protect criminals instead of citizens.

These arrests prove how dangerous that approach is.

Every time left-wing politicians call for abolishing ICE, they are essentially giving transnational criminals a free pass to expand operations in the United States.

The only reason these Chilean nationals are not still robbing homes today is because ICE agents, backed by a Republican vision of law and order, took decisive action.

President Trump understood the importance of border security and interior enforcement.

His administration empowered ICE and made fighting transnational crime a national priority. That commitment must continue.

America cannot afford to roll back enforcement at a time when sophisticated foreign theft groups are exploiting loopholes in immigration law to enrich themselves at our expense. If Democrats get their way, these groups will only grow bolder.

If Republicans stand firm, ICE will keep dismantling them, one takedown at a time.
