BRITISH BLOODBATH: After Deputy PM Resigns, Failing Starmer Makes Major Reshuffle of Cabinet to Stabilize His Chaotic Government

Keir Starmer: 14 months of pure chaos.

Rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic?

After British Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner resigned in disgrace, failing PM Keir Starmer has resorted to a seemingly desperate measure of reshuffling his whole cabinet, in the hopes of bringing some measure of stability to his chaotic premiership.

Panic has taken over the leftist Labour Party after yet another top official departure.

Daily Mail reported:

“The PM effectively went back to the drawing board after a dismal first year in power and torrid summer of migration protests, moving Yvette Cooper from the Home Office in an apparent admission that borders policy is not working.

David Lammy has been transferred from the Foreign Office to Justice, despite Downing Street previously guaranteeing he would stay in that job. But he will be made Deputy PM, avoiding the appearance of a demotion.”

Keir Starmer’s reshuffle of the Labour Cabinet is now complete.

Changes include:

The changes have been much more sweeping than Labour MPs expected, as they were previously briefed of only ‘limited tweaks’.

“Sir Keir was left scrambling to stabilize his government following the departure of Ms. Rayner from her posts of Deputy PM, Housing Secretary and deputy Labour leader.

[…] Standards watchdog Sir Laurie Magnus concluded that Ms Rayner had tried to act with ‘integrity’ but still fell short of the standards required in government, failing to pay tens of thousands of pounds of stamp duty.”

Labour MPs will now fight for Rayner’s job as vice-leader.

The Telegraph reported:

“It also means Labour must run a party-wide election for deputy leader, with a risk that the party’s membership votes for a hard-Left candidate who becomes a lightning rod for opposition.

[…] For days, Sir Keir defended his deputy, and Cabinet colleagues rallied round to insist she did not have to quit. Some even said she was only being targeted because she was working class and had a Northern accent.

At first, Ms Rayner’s team was adamant that she had done nothing wrong and that she had paid all tax due. But on Wednesday morning, hours before Prime Minister’s Questions, she announced that she had made a “mistake” and had not paid the full amount of tax.

She said she had initially been advised by lawyers to pay the normal level of stamp duty, not the higher level that is due on second homes.”
