Trump Nominates State Department Spox Tammy Bruce as Deputy U.N. Ambassador

President Donald Trump announced Saturday that he will nominate Tammy Bruce, the State Department’s current spokeswoman, to the post of Deputy U.S. Representative to the United Nations.

Posting on Truth Social, Trump described her as a “great patriot” and said she had done a “fantastic job” as a spokeswoman.

“I am pleased to announce that I am nominating Tammy Bruce, a Great Patriot, Television Personality, and Bestselling Author, as our next Deputy Representative of the United States to the United Nations, with the rank of Ambassador,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Saturday evening.

“Since the beginning of my Second Term, Tammy has been serving with distinction as Spokesperson of the State Department, where she did a fantastic job.

“Tammy Bruce will represent our Country brilliantly at the United Nations,” he continued.

“Congratulations Tammy!”

Bruce will serve as deputy to Trump’s former national security advisor Mike Waltz, who was recently nominated for the principal role as ambassador.

The 61-year-old has had a long career as a conservative commentator, author, and longtime media figure.

She worked as Fox News contributor since 2005 and previously hosted Get Tammy Bruce on the network’s streaming platform, Fox Nation.

Before joining the Trump administration, she worked in talk radio and wrote for outlets including The Washington Times.

However, she was previously a liberal activist and even served as president of the Los Angeles chapter of the National Organization for Women in the 1990s.

Announcing her role at the State Department earlier this year, Trump lauded her as a “highly respected political analyst who understood the power and importance of MAGA early on.”

“She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science at the University of Southern California and, after being a liberal activist in the 1990s, saw the lies and fraud of the Radical Left, and quickly became one of the strongest Conservative voices on Radio and Television,” he wrote at the time.
