Members of the Tryon family
By Guest Contributor Daniel Goodwyn
Casey Tryon never imagined she’d be here.
A U.S. Army veteran, college graduate, and high-level finance professional, she built a life based on discipline, faith, and hard work. Together with her husband, a successful contractor who built his company from the ground up, they created what she lovingly calls “a modern-day Brady Bunch”—a big, blended family of seven beautiful children, bound by love, patriotism, and faith in God.
But everything changed after January 6, 2021.
Today, Casey, her husband, and her brother—all January 6 defendants—are struggling harder than ever just to survive. Their reputations have been destroyed in their community. Their businesses crushed. Their children harassed. And now, their very home hangs in the balance.
They need our help. And this is a call to action.

When the Tryon family stood up in Washington D.C. on January 6th, they believed they were exercising their God-given rights. Casey, a former Army soldier, was there to serve her country in a way she had been taught was her duty: to stand for liberty, truth, and the future of her children.

“I didn’t assault anyone,” she writes. “I was helping people—directed and aided by law enforcement to do so. I got Officer Hodges unstuck from the door jam, potentially saving his life as he was being struck in the face repeatedly. It was a shock when I found out he wrote a victim impact statement for the prosecution, hoping that I receive a longer prison sentence.”
And yet, the federal government hit Casey with multiple felonies—including assault on federal officers, obstruction, and even robbery—for what amounts to her mere presence and assistance that day. “All for ‘aiding and abetting,’ like I’m guilty just for being there,” she says.
She served her time and has since been released—but the real punishment continues at home.
Once the story hit local media, their lives quickly spiraled. “We were blasted in the media, harassed on social platforms. People dug into our lives and went after our family, our friends, our businesses. Our kids were bullied at school, by teachers no less. Neighbors threw trash and animal waste into our yard. Two vehicles were stolen and later found totaled.”
Their once-thriving family business is nearly silent. And despite doing everything right, they’re now facing the possibility of losing the very roof over their heads.
This is the hidden cost of political persecution.
It’s not just the time in prison, the court costs, the government overreach—it’s the day-to-day survival after you’re labeled, targeted, and cut off from basic economic opportunity. It’s the soul-crushing weight of watching your children suffer because of a lie told by the media and weaponized by your own government.
The Tryons aren’t asking for a handout. They’re fighting to stay afloat. They’re taking any work they can find, selling off belongings, cutting every expense—but without help, they may not make it.
“I just feel like a failure and it’s killing me to let them down,” Casey says in her GiveSendGo campaign. “It’s like being trapped in quicksand, sliding down trying to keep these kids from sinking but they’re tied to me… I’ve prayed on it and sat with it and found that if I allow my pride to get in the way, it’s my children that suffer.”
They need a miracle. And maybe, just maybe, you can be part of that miracle.

This isn’t just one family’s story—it’s the story of many. Families left destroyed in the wake of a political narrative, real Americans who love God and country are forced to start over from nothing.
Casey is not alone. Her family is one of dozens still suffering due to the Biden regime’s ongoing persecution of January 6 patriots. Thankfully, there is a network that hasn’t given up on them.
You can find many more J6 family fundraisers and resources at StopHate.com/SHDOD, a site dedicated to helping the forgotten men and women who stood up and paid the price.
But today, our focus is on the Tryons.
Let’s show them that America hasn’t forgotten. That Christians and patriots still take care of our own. That the Tryon family’s sacrifice will not be met with silence.
Casey, her husband, and their children deserve more than shame, harassment, and fear. They deserve to rebuild. To live. To believe again in the country they once fought to save.
