Trump-hating ‘Republican’ Senator Lisa Murkowski may eventually leave the party and caucus with the radical left to sabotage the president’s agenda after the 2026 midterms.
During an appearance on journalist Galen Druke’s podcast on Monday, where she was promoting her new book “Far from Home: An Alaskan Senator Faces the Extreme Climate of Washington, D.C.” Druke asked her a hypothetical question to find out if she would ever consider switching sides.
“Say Democrats win three seats in the next midterm election, and say ‘we’re going to let you pass bills that benefit Alaskans if you caucus with us…If you provide the fourth vote we need to get from where we are now,’ would you do it?” Drake asked.
“It’s an interesting hypothetical,” Murkowski responded. “You started off with the right hook here, which is if this would help Alaskans.
After briefly promoting her book, Murkowski said she fundamentally disagreed with the Democrats on multiple key issues. This would make one think that she was closing the door.
But Drake returned to his question, and Murkowski again opened it.
“There may be that possibility…There is some openness to exploring something different than the status quo,” she answered.

For many conservatives, a Murkowski alliance with the Democrats would be an admission that she was always with them to start with. Consider the fact that she has not only voting to remove Trump from office, but she has also bucked him on several other key votes such as Supreme Court picks, immigration, and health care.
Murkowski is also one of only two pro-abortion GOP senators (the other being Susan Collins) and a long-time supporter of Planned Parenthood.
Regardless of whether she decides to join the Democrats, ensuring Murkowski’s retirement from politics needs to be a top GOP priority. She is up for reelection in 2028.
