In January, 2023, The Gateway Pundit reported that Senator Josh Hawley introduced the PELOSI Act – Preventing Elected Leaders from Owning Securities and Investments – on the Senate Floor.

This bill, banning US Congressmen and their spouses from trading stocks, was inspired, in large part, by Nancy Pelosi, and her husband, Paul Pelosi’s, stock portfolio gains exceeding $100M since Nancy Pelosi joined Congress in 1987.

Although the previous Congress did not vote on Senator Hawley’s PELOSI Act, in April, 2025, Senator Hawley reintroduced the PELOSI Act before the 119th Congress.

Senator Hawley has recently asserted that the Pelosi family could not possibly have reaped such high stock market dividends without accessing information exclusive to Nancy Pelosi’s office. In other words, the Pelosi family could not generate such monstrous profit margins without executing insider stock trading.

As Senator Hawley told Breitbart on Thursday, May 8, regarding Congressional insider trading,

“They use information that, frankly, only they are privy to, to make millions and millions of dollars on the stock market.”

“[They] don’t do it legally. Nancy Pelosi and her husband, last year, in 2024, beat every hedge fund in the nation, practically.”

“Voters look at this, and they just want to vomit all over themselves. They want to vomit all over these representatives and vote them out.”

“Most members of the public think that stock trading is already banned. When they read stories about Pelosi and whomever else, they can’t believe that this is currently legal,” Senator Hawley said.

Beyond Pelosi and the Democrats, multiple Republican Congressmen appear compromised by insider trading, as well.

“Last year, I was able to get this [bill] passed [out of] committee, but I had to work for almost two solid years just to get the committee vote. And even then, members of Congress, including my own party, tried to kill it at the last minute. Congress loves to trade stock. That’s just the simple fact of the matter,” Senator Hawley told Breitbart.

In order to remedy this corrupt prostitution of Congressional offices for profit,

“We just ban members of Congress from owning or trading individual stocks,” Senator Hawley told Breitbart.

On Tuesday, May 6, War Room host, Steve Bannon, praised his guest, Senator Hawley, on being the lone populist in the US Senate.

“It’s a lonely fight for you up there, as the only true populist in the United States Senate. Let’s get some more populists. Thank you for backing the president’s agenda, and being full MAGA,” Steve Bannon told Senator Hawley.

The Gateway Pundit reached out to Senator Hawley’s office seeking further comment on the PELOSI Act.

This is a developing story.
