Jair Bolsonaro / X
Fears are growing for the health of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, six years after a failed assassination attempt against him.
In a post on his X account, Bolsonaro’s medical team confirmed that he has shown “clinical deterioration” and has no plans to release him from the ICU:
DF Star Hospital reports that former President Jair Bolsonaro remains hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for post-operative monitoring.
He has shown clinical deterioration, elevated blood pressure, and worsening liver function test results.
He will undergo new imaging exams today.
He remains on oral fasting and is receiving exclusive parenteral nutrition. He continues with motor physiotherapy and measures to prevent venous thrombosis.
The recommendation for no visitors remains in place, and there is no forecast for discharge from the ICU.

Having survived an assassination attempt by a left-wing activist shortly before the 2018 presidential election, Bolsonaro has sadly been plagued with persistent health complications, including multiple abdominal surgeries and recurrent intestinal blockages.
In addition to his health problems, Brazil’s communist President Lula Da Silva has helped lead a campaign of lawfare against his political rival in a manner reminiscent of the Biden regime’s persecution of Donald Trump.
Just like Trump, protests in the wake of Da Silva’s narrow election victory have been used as a pretext to strip him of his right to run for president in 2026, while also threatening him with up to 39 years in prison for a supposed coup attempt.
”Everyone knows that if I were allowed to run, I would win,” Bolsonaro recently told supporters.
“A possible arrest would be completely unjust. Where is my crime?” he continued. “Where did I break the law? Where is the proof of a possible coup? Other than discussing constitutional provisions that haven’t left the realm of words.”

Meanwhile, the man who stabbed Bolsonaro and may ultimately take his life was ruled “mentally unfit” to stand trial and has instead been placed in a psychiatric facility.
