“The F-47 will be the most advanced, most capable, most lethal aircraft ever built,” said President Trump. “America’s enemies will never see it coming…hopefully we won’t have to use it for that purpose, but you have to have it. And if it ever happens, they won’t know what the hell hit them.”
Is the naming of the new jet fitting?

According to Wikipedia:
“Details about the F-47’s design remain classified. The F-47 will have “significantly longer range, more advanced stealth, be more sustainable, supportable, and have higher availability than our fifth-generation fighters”—that is, the F-22 and F-35,” Air Force Chief of Staff General David Allvin said. He also said it would “cost less” than the F-22, be acquired in larger numbers, be “more adaptable to future threats,” and “will take significantly less manpower and infrastructure to deploy.”
Evolution of jet fighters.
It is anticipated to incorporate advanced stealth capabilities, sensor fusion, and the ability to coordinate operations with drone swarms, all intended to provide an advantage in combat.
Bonus question- why did President Trump choose Boeing over Lockheed to build the jet? The Next Generation Air Dominance program will introduce a crewed aircraft to succeed Lockheed Martin’s F-22 Raptor, designed to operate in combat alongside drones.
