With Congresswoman Elise Stefanik expected to vacate her seat in New York’s 21st Congressional District to take her post as UN Ambassador any day now, President Trump’s agenda depends on a strong pro-Trump Republican succeeding her.
Sticker Mule CEO Anthony Constantino has proven time and time again he is the right candidate, and a recent poll shows that he is the clear favorite among Republican voters.
But in New York, Republican nominees in special elections are not chosen by the voters, but rather by the Republican County Chairs.
And The Gateway Pundit has received word that a rogue group among the 15 Republican County Chairs in the 21st Congressional District have decided to disregard the opinion of Republican voters, along with state election law, by nominating real estate agent and two-time failed Congressional candidate Liz Joy.
A New York State election expert tells TGP that nominating a candidate before a special election has been declared, which will not happen until Stefanik steps down, is illegal.
Joy – who doesn’t live in the 21st Congressional District – is most known for being beaten badly by Democrat Congressman Paul Tonko in the 20th Congressional District in 2020 and 2022.
In 2022, she raised over $1 million only to barely outperform the 2024 Republican nominee who didn’t raise a single dollar!
Democrats know this race is winnable.
Their handpicked candidate, dairy farmer Blake Gendebien, is running around the district screaming Republican talking points like border security and eliminating waste and fraud in government, all while radical Democrats like Hakeem Jeffries and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are filling his campaign coffers to the tune of $2 million.
This is why choosing a two-time loser in such a vital race is such a disgrace – especially when there is a successful businessman who employs over 1,000 people in upstate New York who has already proven his loyalty to President Trump in the race!
Constantino is perhaps most known for building the largest ‘Vote for Trump’ sign in America atop his largest upstate factory building. His Democrat mayor tried to throw him in jail over it, and continues to fine him $1,000 a day for keeping it up, but he has never backed down.

He spent over $1 million supporting Trump in the leadup to the 2024 election, mailing tens of thousands of pro-Trump sticker packs across the country, among other efforts.
Last month, he even unveiled a beautiful ‘Trump Defiance’ statue depicting the President moments after being shot in Butler, PA, which he is gifting to Trump’s West Palm Beach golf course.
One source familiar with the situation told The Gateway Pundit that this scheme to choose Joy over Constantino is so dumbfounding it either comes down to cronyism or DEI.
“Nobody in their right mind thinks Joy is the better candidate,” the source said, adding: “She either cut some sort of deal with them, or the chairs decided to follow the Democrat DEI playbook and pick her for being a woman, qualifications be damned.”
The source notes that the scheme to nominate her isn’t a done deal:
“If Trump decides to endorse Constantino, it is game over. The President is the true leader of the Republican Party after all – and there is a pretty good chance that he will. President Trump likes fighters, and few have fought harder for him than Anthony,” adding that “President Trump twice refused to endorse Liz Joy. There’s no reason to believe he would endorse her this time, especially considering that she sat out the 2024 election.”
On X, Constantino has already posted that “any meeting of County Chairs to designate Liz Joy before there is a vacancy will be illegal, non-binding and, if necessary, challenged in court.”
