Tucker Carlson’s son Buckley is joining the Trump administration.
The appointment was reported by ABC News, who revealed that he will take up the role of deputy press secretary to J.D. Vance.
Born in 1997, the son of the famous political commentator earned a bachelor’s degree in government and political science from the University of Virginia.
Following his graduation, Buckley began his career in politics, initially serving as a communications intern in the White House during the Trump administration.
He later joined the office of Representative Jim Banks (R-IN) in 2019, starting as a staff assistant and subsequently advancing to roles such as press secretary and communications director.

Buckley shares a name with the great conservative intellectual and founder of National Review, William F. Buckley Jr.
Some people have speculated whether he named his son Buckley after William F. Buckley Jr., although Carlson was recently highly critical of his legacy.
In an interview with comedian Dave Smith back in 2023, Tucker affirmed Buckley Jr. as “one of the great villains of the 20th century.”
Since being ousted by Fox News back in 2023, Tucker has embarked on several independent ventures, most notably the creation of the eponymous Tucker Carlson Network.
According to multiple reports, Tucker played an important role in Donald Trump’s decision to pick J.D. Vance as his running mate.
This intervention may ultimately have tipped the decision in favor of Vance. At the time Trump was also strongly considering the likes of then Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Governor of South Dakota Doug Burgum.
Buckley, meanwhile, is Tucker’s second-born child and his only son. He has three other children with his wife Susie.
