BREAKING: Trump to Announce Sean Curran to Replace Ron Rowe as Secret Service Director

President Trump will announce Sean Curran, one of the agents who surrounded him following the Butler assassination attempt, as the new Secret Service Director.

Ron Rowe is the current acting Secret Service Director after Kim Cheatle resigned over the summer.

Reuters reported:

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump plans to announce Sean Curran as his pick for director of the Secret Service, CNN reported on Thursday, citing multiple sources familiar with the plan.

Curran has served as the special agent in charge of Trump’s security detail and was with him at the time of an assassination attempt on the Republican during an appearance in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The Trump transition team did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the report.

Curran has a close personal relationship with Trump, CNN said, and supervises about 85 people in his current role.

Kimberly Cheatle resigned in July after Secret Service security lapses led to an attempted assassination of Trump.

President Trump was grazed in the ear after a 20-year-old gunman named Thomas Matthew Crooks climbed on a roof and took several shots at Trump and rallygoers in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13.

Cheatle appeared before the House Oversight Committee over the summer to answer questions about the so-called security breaches that led to an assassination attempt on Trump during his Butler rally.

She stonewalled during the interview. She refused to answer any pertinent questions! Cheatle did not answer any important questions and blamed it on “an ongoing investigation.”
