On Thursday night, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish beat the Penn State Nittany Lions at the Capital One Orange Bowl to advance to the College Football Playoff final.

Following the game, rather than focusing on the players and the tremendous coaching job by ND Head Coach Marcus Freeman, an ESPN reporter chose to push a woke agenda, taking the focus away from Marcus’ coaching abilities, to make it about race.

But Freeman was not having any of it.

Reporter: You because you are the first Black head coach to go to a national Championship game in college football. Congratulations.

Just hearing that response alone, how much does this mean to you?

Coach Freeman: I’ve said this before. I don’t ever want to take attention away from the team.

It is an honor, and I hope all coaches, minorities, Black, Asian, White, it doesn’t matter, great to lead young men like this.

But this ain’t about me. This is about us.

We’re going to celebrate what we’ve done because it’s something special.
