As The Gateway Pundit readers know, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has been one of the foremost advocates for election integrity across America and a nightmare for the Uniparty.
He is still standing strong even after surviving an impeachment effort by the Texas State Legislature and constant attacks from the left.
By contrast, Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) remains a consistently squishy RINO committed to folding to Democrats on a regular basis.
The two publicly sparred after Paxton called out Cornyn’s America-last posture by being one of 22 Republicans to vote for a massive $95.3 billion aid package for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan with no border funding in early 2024.
Over the weekend, during a speech at AmFest, Paxton teased a possible primary run against Cornyn.
AmFest attendee Duke Denman asked Paxton, “Good afternoon, Mr. Attorney General. My name is Duke. I live in Williamson County, Texas.”
“I’ve personally written you letters and called your office, encouraging you to run. My question is, when are you announcing that you’re running against John Corna for Senate?”
The crowd cheered after Denman’s question.
Paxton replied, “How about if I say this? Not yet. We are definitely…..I am praying about it. We are looking at that.”
“I’m talking to a lot of people in Texas over the next couple of months. Ask me that question in a couple of months, and I’ll have a different answer.”
“So thank you. Let me ask this. This is like my first… I have not run a poll, so this is going to be my first poll. Who would want me to run?”
The crowd roared their approval for Paxton throwing his hat in the ring.
“That’s good. Let me just say that was a very encouraging response.”
