No one has ever accused The View’s Ana Navarro of possessing superior intellect, and her appearance last night on CNN was particularly humiliating.

During Monday’s Anderson Cooper 360° episode, Navarro locked horns with Republican strategist Erin Perrine over how the GOP-run Senate would handle President-elect Donald Trump’s amazing cabinet nominations, particularly those considered “controversial.” Navarro claimed that Republicans should “vote their conscience” and play fair with Democrats by conducting vigorous hearings. If this happens, she argued, some of Trump’s picks will go down.

After telling Perrine that she hoped incoming Senate Majority Leader John Thune would conduct himself as a “new leader” and play fair, Perrine then dropped some bad news on her. She pointed out that Thune knows precisely how the Senate works and how to “run the clock” on a nomination.

Despite skepticism from MAGA conservatives, Thune has vowed to get Trump’s picks through the Senate and is even open to using recess appointments. However, he prefers the standard nominating process.

“I think that all options are on the table, including recess appointments. Hopefully, it doesn’t get to that, but we’ll find out fairly quickly whether the Democrats want to play ball or not,” Thune told Fox News on Thursday.

Perrine argued that Thune and the rest of the GOP would keep the Senate in session and prevent the Democrats from ever going home to their families if they tried to obstruct each nomination. Trump would still eventually get his picks through.

Hearing this was light sunlight to a vampire, and Navarro flipped out. She tried to shout down Perrine, claiming the Democrats could not give in to the GOP, and even tried to state that McConnell would fight with the Democrats.

Perrine, though, stood her ground and again warned the GOP would run the clock and keep the Democrats in Washington until Trump’s nominees go through while trying to pass his agenda. Navarro again started yelling that this would not happen and invoked McConnell’s name again.

NAVARRO: If Republican senators do not capitulate on their duty to advise and consent…And they vote their conscience; we shouldn’t be having this conversation (about confirming his picks).

PERRINE: You asked a question about John Thune and whether or not I believed about John Thune…

NAVARRO: I think he’s an institutionalist and a good guy, and I hope that he will conduct himself as a new leader of the Senate and be ethical…

PERRINE: This is what MAGA does not understand about why John Thune was such a great selection; he understands how the Senate works. He knows these rules and procedures, he knows what it takes to run the clock on a nomination. Listen, if Democrats want to make it painful and never get home to see their districts and their families, they can run the clock on every nomination. It also eats up floor time in order to get the agenda done that Donald Trump was elected to do on behalf of the American people.

If Democrats want to jam the floor of the United States Senate and ultimately have a fire alarm which are nominations and not jam up the floor.

(Navarro starts shouting and interrupts Perrine)

NAVARRO: Democrats cannot throw their hands up in the air! Not even Mitch McConnell…

PERRINE: Then they will run the clock…

NAVARRO: May I speak?! Mitch McConnell, who had polio, and knows the benefit of those vaccines would throw his hands up in the air shout “Oh, it’s RFK!”
